Skate Tag: DONE

last day

last project

probably the one i spent the most time on

Skate Tag is finally done and it seems like the effort was worth it

all the plans came to fruition

a lot of work -

the original design is detailed in earlier posts, but since then, here is a list of elements i had to put together:
- watercolor backgrounds for all the tag pages

- photoshop manipulation of watercolor elements
- illustrator tracing for the skate graphics
- logo tracing
- bar code
- written text
- assembly of transparency layers

and here is the finished product

props to my boy Matt for flipping thru the display as i took the shots

now its time to get down to serious business

get back into learning Flash and CSS and keep the ball rolling

still dont know how the blog is going to fit into the future plans

will have to do some heavy thinking tonight and thru the weekend

plans to unveil some sort of platform to proceed on

etc

whatever

anyway:
semester 1 - complete

many skills accumulated
good connections established

things are moving

Board: Done

Staples came thru with the nice print job

I decided to mount it on Foam Core in a attempt to minimize expenses

as you can see i stuck with some line art and employed some general design principles

as i was aiming to do - the design featured fonts and words

i aimed to make a ridiculous statement and follow it up with some ambiguity (both in content and style)

I CAN WALK ON WATER
-no i will not show you -

every time i tell people i can walk on water - the first thing they ask me is to show them

"prove it"

i dont got time for that

it takes hard work and dedication
no need to show off

Here are the project totals:

Design concepts: 1 hour
Illustrator layout / trace / design: 2 hours
Basic Photoshop: 1/2 hour

Print cost: $17
Foam core: $4

Mounted on Foam Core with Rubber Cement: 1 hr

Totals: 4 1/2 hours
Cost: $21

What's Up?

yeah yall

season winding down

plans in motion

busy busy

i am jumping the gun on next semester and learning Flash now

i have no patience and showing up to all these events with no portfolio is starting to get on my nerves

linked up with a couple people from class and the seeds of a potential business co-op have been planted

exciting times right now

mind is sparked with tons of ideas

workin off not much more than 4 hours sleep a night lately - not because its busy but just because things is exciting

today i will be digging into action script and hopefully in a short while - this blog will be something worth checking up on

as far as school goes - this week will consist of a few updates - namely how the skate board turned out (which is pretty good)
as well as the final touches on the Tag project which was started and worked out way back in February

as i said - my focus has shifted from school and on to other things
but
maintaining my productivity in class as a matter of business

times they are changing

dont get left in the dust
